The Trials of Odin are a series of challenges Senua must overcome to repair the sword Gramr. The Trials are partially linked to Senua's past, drawing on her life experiences and symptoms of her psychosis.
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice[]
After her encounter with Hela on the bridge to Helheim, Senua is wounded and her sword has been shattered. While lamenting her failure, Senua sees a voice and a vision of a man, who she perceives to be Dillion's spirit. She slowly walks across the beach and reaches a large tree, within which the sword Gramr is trapped. Senua attempts to pull the sword from its resting place, but is unable until she reforges it, by surviving Odin's trials at the four glowing metal runestones around the tree.
Only after Senua survives the trials is she able to pull Gramr from the tree, at which point she is transported to the Sea of Corpses.
Gameplay[]
There are four trials to complete; Senua can complete the challenges in any order.

- The Tower Shard Trial – located at the bottom right corner of the tree.
- The Swamp Shard Trial – located at the top left corner of the tree.
- The Blindness Shard Trial – located at the bottom left entrance with the tree.
