“ | The Northmen say that Odin and his brothers killed Ymir and that the world of men was formed from his corpse. They made his bones into stones and his flesh into earth and his blood into the salt sea. They set his skull to be the bowl of the sky, with his brains for clouds. Odin and his brothers caught the sparks flying from Muspell and made them into stars, and to protect the new world from the giants, they used Ymir's great curving eyebrows as walls.

Midgard is the kingdom of men in Norse mythology. In Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, Senua travels to Midgard in an effort to free her people from slavery and end the tyranny of the Northmen.
Norse Mythology[]
In Norse mythology, it is the realm of humans in Norse mythology, corresponding to Earth as it was then known.
The world of Midgard is located in the middle of Yggdrasil, surrounded by a world of water or ocean, the passage of which is impassable. The ocean is inhabited by the huge sea serpent Jörmungandr, which circles the entire sea, forming a ring that prevents any beings from passing by grabbing its own tail. The original name of what is now called Midgard was known as Mannheim (home of men), but early mythology researchers mistook the region for the most important castle in the area. Therefore, Midgard, in some ancient sources, was the most imposing construction in the world of men, Mannheim. Midgard is represented as being an intermediate world between Asgard and Niflheim (the Norse paradise and hell respectively). According to legend, it was formed from the flesh and blood of the frost giant Ymir, the flesh forming the earth; and the blood, the ocean that surrounds it. Midgard will be destroyed in the battle of Ragnarǫk, the final battle, which will take place on the plain of Vígríðr. In this battle, Jörmungandr, the gigantic serpent that inhabits the ocean, will rise and poison the land and sea, causing the waters to rush against the land, which will be submerged, destroying practically all life in Midgard.
